How To Package Your Cards

The goal is to keep the cards tight, protected, and unable to shift around during transit.

1

Preferred Method

Place cards into penny sleeves, then securely pack them inside a trading card storage box. This is the cleanest and most organized way to send bulk consignments.

2

Alternate Method

If you are not using a storage box, penny sleeve the cards and wrap them tightly in bubble wrap or honeycomb packing paper before placing them inside a shipping box.

3

Shipping Method

We recommend sending your package via USPS Ground Advantage. It is usually the cheapest way to ship cards while still providing tracking and $100 insurance.

4

Insurance

For more security, you may insure the package for the estimated total value of the cards being sent.

Before You Ship

A few quick reminders to help us process your cards faster once they arrive.

Use Penny Sleeves and Top Loaders

Please sleeve cards before shipping. For more expensive cards, please put them in top loaders. This helps prevent surface damage and keeps submissions easier to process.

Keep Cards Secure

Do not leave cards loose inside the box. Fill empty space with packing paper, bubble wrap, or similar material.

Add Your Info

Include your name and email inside the package so we know who the cards belong to.

Cards Received

Once the package arrives, we confirm receipt by email and begin intake for your submission.

Scanned and Priced

We scan, label, and price the cards that fit our marketplace, then prepare them for listing.

Listed on Our Site

Your cards are uploaded to DollarBoxCards.com and added into our normal sales flow.

Payout Sent

(3) days after your cards are listed we will provide you with a PDF of sold cards along with a payout total. Payouts will be made via Paypal. Any cards that are not sold in this time frame will be pushed to the next payout (7) days later. Any cards not sold after (10) days can be subject to a buyout at an agreed price between Dollar Box and the consignor.

Timing may vary depending on shipment size, card condition, and current intake volume, but we will keep you updated throughout the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how our consignment process works.

How does the intake process work?

Once your cards arrive, our team manually sorts through the submission and selects the cards that best fit the Dollar Box Cards customer base and pricing model.

What happens to cards that are not selected?

Cards that are not selected are typically either too low-end for our marketplace or show extensive damage or wear. Unselected cards can either be returned to the consignor at their expense or discarded/recycled with the consignor’s permission.

How quickly will my cards be listed?

We aim to begin listing cards within 1 week or less after your shipment arrives and has been processed. For large submissions or for various other reasons, listings for your consignment may be broken up over several days.

How and when are payouts sent?

Payouts are sent via PayPal and the first payout is typically made (3) days after the initial listing. Consignors may also choose store credit instead of cash payouts and receive 15% more in value.

How are sold cards tracked?

Every card uploaded and sold on DollarBoxCards.com is assigned a unique SKU for tracking purposes. At payout, consignors receive a detailed breakdown showing each card sold and the exact amount it sold for.

How are cards priced?

Dollar Box Cards prices cards according to our own pricing structure, which may occasionally be lower than recent eBay comps. Our pricing strategy is designed around fast-moving inventory and consistent sales volume. While many cards sell quickly, certain players, teams, or niche cards may take longer to move depending on customer demand.

Can I request specific prices for my cards?

For higher-end cards in the $20–$50 range, consignors may request specific prices. However, we generally recommend allowing us to use our established pricing strategy for the best overall sell-through performance.

How should I package my cards?

We recommend placing cards in penny sleeves and securely putting them in a trading card storage box. You may also wrap penny sleeved cards in bubble wrap or honeycomb paper and send them in a box via USPS Ground Advantage.

Can I just sell you my cards directly?

Yes. If both parties mutually agree to a set price, cards can be sent to us directly and, after inspection, we will issue payment at the agreed upon amount.
